Fire, Ambulance Companies in the 68th District to Receive $299,073.44 Says Baker

HARRISBURG – Fire and ambulance companies located in the three counties that make up the 68th Legislative District are set to receive $299,073.44 in state grants under the Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program, announced Rep. Matt Baker (R-Tioga/Bradford/Potter).

“Our fire and ambulance companies rely heavily on this state funding to help them meet their financial commitments and afford new equipment,” said Baker. “I am pleased that so many companies will receive funding under this vital program.”

Funding from the Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program can be used for construction or renovation of a company’s station, the purchase or repair of equipment, training or debt reduction.

The following Bradford County fire and EMS companies in the 68th District received grants:

• Oscouluwa Engine and Hose Company Inc.: $12,358.68.
• Ridgebury Volunteer Fire Company Inc.: $12,358.68.
• Smithfield Township Volunteer Fire Department: $12,616.
• South Creek Volunteer Fire Company Inc.: $12,101.36.
• Tri Township Ambulance Association: $7,448.21.
• Western Alliance Emergency Services: $7,448.21.

Grants were awarded to the following fire and EMS companies in the 68th District in Potter County:

• Gale Hose Company No. 1 Inc.: $7,448.21.
• Germania Fire Company: $11,844.04.
• Goodyear Hose Company No. 1 Inc.: $12,101.36.

Grants were awarded to the following fire and EMS companies in Tioga County:

• Blossburg Fireman’s Ambulance Association: $7,448.21.
• Blossburg Volunteer Fire Department: $11,844.04.
• Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Company: $12,616.
• Clymer Township Volunteer Hose Company: $12,358.68.
• Crary Hose Company: $12,616.
• Elkland Borough Volunteer Fire Department: $12,358.68.
• Knoxville-Deerfield Volunteer Fire Company: $12,358.68.
• Lawrenceville Fire Department: $12,873.32.
• Liberty Volunteer Fire Company Inc.: $12,873.32.
• Mansfield Firemens Ambulance Association: $6,134.77.
• Mansfield Hose Company: $13,645.28.
• Middlebury Ambulance Association Inc.: $7,448.21.
• Millerton Volunteer Fire Department: $15,000.
• Nelson Volunteer Fire Company Inc.: $12,101.36.
• Osceola Volunteer Fire Department Inc.: $12,873.32.
• Tioga Volunteer Firemen’s Ambulance Association Inc.: $7,448.21.
• Wellsboro Firemen’s Ambulance Association Inc.: $7,448.21.
• Wellsboro Volunteer Fire Department: $13,902.60.
